Job summary

Cornwall Staff Agency Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a full-time plasma operative to join our established team. You will operate CNC plasma equipment, lift and move stock, and handle large components in a busy workshop.

Produce components to strict drawings and instructions, perform daily machine checks, report defects, and ensure quantities match job cards. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and orderly work areas while supporting unloading and material flow.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC plasma and adjusting settings to maintain quality.
• Experience using overhead cranes, magnets and lifting equipment to move sheets and parts.
• Experience with various electrical and hand tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings and inspect finished components.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise.
• Safety boots required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Plasma and use lifting equipment to move stock and components.

• Perform daily safety and machine checks.
• Determine working methods and use appropriate equipment safely.

Job description

Our client a British manufacturer of agricultural machinery is seeking a full time plasma operative to join their established team.

What we offer:

• £13.89 per hour
• Monday - Thursday - 06:30 - 16:45.
• Full-time permanent position.

The role:

• Operation of CNC Plasma, lifting and moving equipment and associated hand tools to move stock raw materials and large components.
• Produce components according to strict guidelines, designs and technical drawings and instructions.
• Meet the expected standards of accuracy, efficiency, quality and output as set by the Company.
• Perform daily operational checks on machinery and tools; identify and report any defects.
• Determine appropriate methods of working, based on requirements and use equipment needed according to strict safety standards.
• Ensure the flow of correct parts through Shop 1 into appropriate areas.
• Ensure that the quantity for the job card matches the finished quantity of parts and highlight any shortages to Supervisor.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Help in the unloading and moving of raw materials within the workshop.

Requirements:

• Experience of operating a CNC Plasma; adjusting settings and monitoring the machine to ensure quality control.
• Experience of using overhead cranes, magnets and other lifting and moving equipment to move sheets and parts.
• Experience of using a variety of electrical and hand tools and associated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents to check and inspect finished components for defects.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
• Safety boots required.
