Job summary

SUEZ in Fareham is seeking a hands-on Operations Team Member to control, transfer and stockpile waste and recyclables at a busy material transfer station. You will operate mobile and fixed plant, manage traffic, weighbridge records and ensure compliance with health and safety duties, liaising with customers and the public to provide excellent service.

A flexible approach and willingness to cover weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Operational experience with active licences for loading shovel, 360 tele-handler and forklift.
• Knowledge of site licence/permit systems and compliance.
• Experience in waste/recycling or similar process environment.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and fixed plant and carry out maintenance.
• Manage site traffic and guide tipping vehicles.
• Operate weighbridge and record vehicle weights accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and welfare duties.
• Co-operate with staff and customers to meet permits and procedures.
• Undertake first aider / fire safety duties on site.
• Other duties as reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.
