Job summary

Rocket Staffing are currently recruiting an experienced Plant & Tool Fitter to join a busy team in Bracknell. This role involves servicing, repairing and maintaining HGVs, plant and heavy machinery, with a 45-hour week and early start 7:00am to 5:00pm.

You will diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine repairs, complete preventative maintenance and attend breakdowns as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Fitter, Plant Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
• Experience on plant, HGVs or other heavy machinery.
• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Diagnostic and fault-finding experience.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work to a high standard.
• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, repairing and maintaining HGVs, plant and heavy machinery.
• Work across a varied range of equipment; no two days the same.
• Carry out mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine repairs.
• Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Prepare machinery and vehicles for work.
• Attend breakdowns and respond to repair requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Keep accurate records of servicing and repairs.
• Work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
