Job summary

GI Group Holdings Recruitment Limited is recruiting an experienced Plant & Tool Fitter to join a busy plant and tool hire business. The role involves servicing, maintaining, testing and repairing plant and small tools in a workshop, with on-site visits as needed.

The ideal candidate will have background in plant hire, tool hire, plant engineering or mechanical fitting, and be capable of diagnosing faults across equipment. UK driving licence required; Monday-Friday hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Tool Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or similar.
• Experience working with plant, construction equipment and/or small power tools.
• A full UK driving licence and good geographical knowledge of the local area.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a practical, analytical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, service and repair a range of plant and hand tools
• Carry out repairs and maintenance at customer sites when required
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
• Clean, inspect and prepare returned hire equipment
• Maintain workshop tools, test equipment and ancillary equipment
• Carry out bodywork repairs and painting to maintain the appearance of the hire fleet
