A leading materials company seeks a dedicated team member to work in concrete production located in Canterbury. This role emphasizes safety and quality in production processes, and you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Ideal candidates will hold GCSE qualifications and possess strong teamwork and customer service skills.
Purpose of the role
To work closely with team members in producing concrete in a safe, clean environment and to ensure excellent customer service. Responsible for maintaining a positive first impression regarding the cleanliness of the yard, plant, and facilities.
Key accountabilities
Coordinate with the Order Office, plant staff, and customers to ensure that concrete/mortar production meets customer requirements, delivering optimal output, quality, and standards as per the Procedures Manual, Working Instructions, and Technical Instructions.
Regularly inspect and perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring cleanliness of the plant mechanism, area, buildings, and facilities according to established instructions.
Manage waste disposal, water discharges, and dust emissions in compliance with Environmental Procedures.
Ensure sufficient materials are available for production needs.
Inspect incoming materials and conduct weekly visual stock checks.
Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors follow safety instructions.
Review work methods and plant utilization to optimize the use of equipment and materials.
Adhere to the Restrictive Trade Practices Act and related communications.
Operate in accordance with Group and Regional policies to prevent fraudulent activities.
Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Company Safety Policies, and relevant legislation.
Update knowledge and attend training as required.
Follow Personnel Policies and Procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Operate batching plant and FEL per company standards, maintaining site presentation.
Maintain site cleanliness and ensure accurate batching of concrete/mortar when trained.
Keep plant stocked with approved materials, visually check stocks daily, and verify monthly with the supervisor.
Conduct routine maintenance and record defects/actions.
Report any issues that could impact health & safety, environment, product quality, or service.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, quality control, and fraud prevention policies.

Adhere to Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy.
Perform operations in accordance with instructions and procedures to prevent fraud.
Proactively manage health & safety to improve performance.
Update knowledge and attend training as needed.
Comply with HR Policies and Procedures.
Education/Qualification
GCSE grade 4+ or equivalent to a C in Math and English.
Perform other duties as reasonably required.
