Start Monday is recruiting a Commercial Boiler Plant Room Engineer for the London & M25 area. You will maintain and operate commercial non-gas plant including pumps, valves, heat exchangers and pressurisation units, while supporting on-call duties.

Experience in district heating networks is preferred but not essential. You will read drawings, perform P&IDs checks, and collaborate with clients to improve network reliability and efficiency.

Qualifikationen

• 3 years of experience as Commercial Plant Engineer or similar
• NVQ in Gas or Plumbing required
• Knowledge of heat network energy centres and plant rooms
• Able to read technical drawings e.g., P&IDs & mechanical schematics
• Electrical competency (basic)
• Competent with safe isolation (mechanical and electrical)
• Full UK driving license

Aufgaben

• Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities on commercial plant (pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, degassers)
• Repair and reinstatement of commercial plant
• Fault finding and repairs on plant and associated equipment
• Attend reactive call-outs to reinstate heat and resolve plant failures
• On-call rota participation (about 1 in 4 weeks)
• Review root causes for plant failures and implement improvements
• Manage site-based projects and develop scope of works for remediation
• Keep accurate maintenance records and secure documentation

We are working with a National organisation who design, build & operates district energy and heat networks across the UK. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer within the London & M25 area, with experience of working in Commercial Plant Rooms normally in excess of 1mw.

You will be undertaking mechanical PPMs, reactive call outs, planned repairs and project work, on Commercial Plant equipment, including maintaining and operating commercial non-gas plant, e.g., pumps, valves, strainers, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, degassers, etc.

The company will also support someone who is willing to work towards a valid commercial gas certificate.

Your Experience:

You will have experience maintaining and operating commercial non-gas plant, e.g., pumps, valves, strainers, would be beneficial. The role will be varied, undertaking mechanical PPMs, reactive call outs, planned repairs and project work, to further improve reliability and network efficiency - while experience in district heating networks is preferred but not essential.

You will be organised, self-motivated, and comfortable communicating with team members, as well as external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities in line with company maintenance schedules (pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, degassers)
• Repair and reinstatement of commercial plant
• Completion of fault finding and repairs to commercial plant and other equipment including pumps and pipework
• Attend reactive call-outs to sites to reinstate heat and resolve plant failures
• Take part in an on-call rota and attend callouts (typically 1 week in 4)
• Review root causes for plant failure (resolve operational issues which arise)
• Management of site-based project work and development of the scope of works for plant remediation
• Ensure maintenance system records are kept up to date to ensure accurate and secure records

Knowledge & Experience

• 3 years of experience working as a Commercial Plant Engineer or in a similar capacity
• NVQ in Gas or Plumbing
• Knowledge of heat network energy centres and plant rooms
• Able to read technical drawings e.g., P&IDs & mechanical schematics
• Electrical competency (basic)
• Competent with safe isolation (mechanical and electrical)
• Full UK driving license

Remuneration

• Basic to £50,000 (depending on experience) - Negotiable
