Job summary

UPL is seeking a Plant Planner / Scheduler to develop and maintain a finished goods supply plan for multiple UK & EU affiliates. The role collaborates with customer service, demand planning, and the manufacturing team to optimize production and material flow.

You will manage daily and long-term production schedules, ensure capacity and material feasibility, and communicate plans to sites while monitoring performance and risk. A degree in chemistry and 1–3 years planning experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of planning experience.
  • Experience with SAP ERP.
  • UK/EU region experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily production plan for UK & EU affiliates.
  • Coordinate raw material requirements from forecast SNP.
  • Monitor plan performance and escalate capacity constraints.
  • Attend routine Site Meetings.

Job Summary

The role of Plant Planner / Scheduler is to develop and maintain a finished goods supply plan for multiple affiliates in the UK & EU Region through working collaboratively with customer service, demand planning, and the manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities applicable to Planning
Production Planning
  • Manages the Daily Production Plan / short term plan to the plant and is the primary contact for any issues relating to it.
  • Manages the short-term & long-term element of the production schedule in terms of creating process orders, smoothing and sequencing them to make best use of available capacity and minimise down time.
  • Effective communication of Production plan to the production facility and monitor its performance against these plans.
  • Ensures that capacity and material feasibility are checked for the Daily Production Schedule and highlights in a timely manner any capacity or Material constraints that will prevent us meeting business needs.
  • Communicates any customer/shipment orders that cannot be accommodated in the schedule.
  • Attend routine Site Meetings.
Planning of Raw Material
  • Calculate the raw material requirements to meet production demands from forecast/SNP
  • Review supply requirements from the monthly SNP output in line with current capacity and throughput assumptions and highlight any areas of risk.
  • Manage the Purchase Plan as it relates to supply of product to be given to procurement for creation of Purchase requisitions.
  • Track manufacturing schedule adherence with appropriate escalation as required
  • Input data sheet with Planned verses Actuals
  • Reschedule production if there is a problem with raw material
  • Aiming for 3 month rolling planning schedule and long term 15 months plan as per SNP demand
  • Request for SKU amendments on master data queries.
Other
  • Identify and manage items at risk of becoming aged or excess and implement plans to ensure there is always zero write off / expiry of product.
  • Conduct current and future inventory analysis.
Education
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in chemistry or equivalent.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in Planning role.
  • Experience of working with ERP tool such as SAP.
