Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for Plant Operators and Labourers in the Cambridgeshire area to join our team.

Job Overview:

Operate plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level.

Perform other duties necessary for the day-to-day running of the quarry/landfill as deemed by a site supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of mobile and fixed plant to the necessary standard.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as greasing and cleaning equipment.
  • Report any defects to site management or workshop using the R2C app.
  • Control the quality of product and follow plant GPS to achieve the required ground levels.
  • Carry out additional duties related to the quarry as requested by a supervisor or manager.
  • Accurately record working hours on timesheets and submit weekly.
  • Log production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs correctly.
  • Inform management of any materials unsuitable for production.
  • Understand procedures related to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Highlight any training needs to line management, especially for legislative requirements.
  • Conduct themselves professionally and safely, maintaining site cleanliness and minimizing hazards.
  • Maintain regular contact with site management.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience on Dozer, 360 Excavator, or Dump Truck (minimum 5 years).
  • A hard-working nature.
  • Experience with GPS (machine control).
