Job summary

Imerys Parkandillick Calciner in St Austell, Cornwall, seeks a safety‑focused Operative to work in milling, crushing, screening, bagging and ball milling sections. 72-shift pattern, 38.5 hours per week, permanent contract. The role ensures calcined clays meet quality and EHS procedures, with emphasis on production schedules and waste minimization.

You will handle wagons maintenance, operate processing equipment, and support continuous improvement while maintaining EHS standards and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Basic English and Maths, IT skills, and a UK driving licence.
• Forklift and front-end loader licences are required.
• Ability to work at heights and as part of a team; good physical fitness for manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EHS awareness and safety compliance.
• Manage stock rotation and loading bay housekeeping.
• Perform pallet maintenance, repairs and shrink-wrapping.
• Operate processing equipment and support customer trials.
• Provide support in other areas and pursue continuous improvement.
