Job summary

Veolia is seeking an operational role at Aldridge (WS9 8BL). The role offers 40 hours per week with shift patterns from 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, plus overtime and a salary of £13.27 per hour.

You will operate plant equipment, support waste treatment and drive site vehicles once trained. Eligible candidates will have a Full UK Driving Licence, hands-on plant knowledge and IOSH-style health and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Operational knowledge of plant and equipment.
• Knowledge of health and safety (IOSH standard).
• Experience in a manual handling role.
• Forklift licences and yellow plant licences are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant processing equipment (mixing tanks, pumps, control room).
• Carry out treatment of waste operations.
• Operate site vehicles (forklift, wheeled loading shovel, tanker) when trained.
• Assist in maintenance of the plant and equipment.
• Promote environmental awareness to contractors, visitors and employees.

What will you be doing?

• Operating plant processing equipment such as mixing tanks, pumps, general control room operations
• Carry out treatment of waste operations
• Operate the site based vehicles - forklift trucks, wheeled loading shovel, rigid bulk tanker and other - once trained
• Assist in the maintenance of the plant and equipment and processes
• Promote environmental awareness to contractors, visitors, and employees

What are we looking for?

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Operational knowledge of plant and equipment and the ability to drive mobile plant machinery
• Knowledge of health and safety ideally to an IOSH standard
• Previous experience within a similar operational manual handling role
• Desirable - Forklift licences and yellow plant licences
