Job summary

DPD UK is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead our hub sortation and operations team in Hinckley. You will oversee a Plant Sortation Manager and a small team, ensuring efficient, accurate processing for customer deliveries.

Daily duties include analysing large data sets, driving improvements to sorter utilization, and coordinating with Engineering for equipment maintenance to sustain high hub performance. A full UK driving licence is essential.

• Contract Type: Permanent / 40 Hours Per Week

Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Plant Operations Manager, to help strengthen and lead our plant operations team within our national sortation Hub in Hinckley.

In this role you will be responsible for managing a Plant Sortation Manager and small team of skilled operatives who ensure that the sorter is being used as effectively as possible whilst keeping downtime to a minimum. You are responsible for the proactive management of routing of parcels is correct for the site and your involvement in testing is paramount to ensure any problems are highlighted and resolved ready for the sort to begin.

Daily tasks will include analysis of large quantities of data, implementation of new ideas and processes to improve our sorting operation as well as investigating and reporting any system failures and reporting back to the General Manager and Other hub Senior Managers.

Other Key responsibilities of the role will be

• Management of the Video coding Suite
• Improving sorter utilisation and productivity to enhance Hub efficiencies.
• Communication with other departments within DPD such as Engineering to ensure the maintenance of sorter equipment at all times.
• Recruitment and development of skilled plant operatives

Due to the time critical nature of the business the successful management of your team and area is crucial to ensure the sort cut off is achieved.
