Job summary

VSL International, part of Bouygues Construction, seeks an experienced Plant Mechanic to join the Plant Department on our Lower Thames Crossing project in the United Kingdom. Based in a main workshop or on site, you will be responsible for assembly, commissioning, inspection, maintenance and repair of specialist ground engineering equipment.

You will conduct daily and weekly inspections, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, read technical manuals, and support safety and reliability

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical maintenance of heavy construction plant.
• Experience with crawler cranes, drilling rigs, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of BAUER and/or LIEBHERR machinery is desirable.
• Good knowledge of hydraulic systems, fault finding and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of plant and equipment, identifying faults and wear and logging results.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing on specialist ground engineering equipment.
• Participate in mechanical assembly, commissioning and mobilisation of cranes, drilling rigs and other plant.
• Read and interpret technical manuals and equipment drawings to support maintenance and repair activities.
