Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a Plant Maintenance Engineer for a family-run engineering business in the UK. You will maintain and repair heavy plant including crushers and screens, with attention to diagnostics and safe practices.

Work both in the workshop and on-site with a small team. A full driving license is required; City & Guilds L3 in Plant/Vehicle maintenance or equivalent is preferred. Generous holiday and pension schemes accompany ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full driving license with a maximum of 6 points.
• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Plant or Vehicle Maintenance or apprenticeship trained.
• Strong knowledge of plant and machinery.
• Ability to use cutting equipment and welding.
• Able to work independently and use own initiative.
• 24 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on plant machinery and industrial equipment (crushers, screens, heavy kit).
• Perform diagnostics, inspections and report defects; deliver proactive uptime solutions.
• Support pre-hire inspections, pre-delivery checks and PDIs.
• Identify issues and deliver proactive maintenance to increase uptime.
• Work in a busy workshop, on site and in the workshop as part of a small team.
• Demonstrate safe working practices at all times.
• Brief operators on issues causing damage or wear; promote best practice.
