Job Description:

The key responsibilities and duties of the Plant Maintenance Engineer include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain and repair all equipment and facility areas to agreed standards, with the ability to identify detailed faults.
• Complete daily checks on machines and equipment, including statutory checks, within skills capabilities and approvals.
• Work in shifts and provide out-of-hours call support.
• Identify spare parts required in proactive timescales.
• Undertake all duties in compliance with Safety, Environmental Regulations, and Company procedures.
• Understand and adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures.

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Preferred mechanical or electrical qualification.
• Apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
• Extensive experience, preferably within a similar role in plant maintenance.
• Mechanical/electrical background.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Knowledge of pipework (PVC).
• Good understanding of pumps & motors.
• Preferred understanding of gas ovens, chiller units, rectifiers.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, use tools and equipment safely, work under pressure with minimal supervision, and deal effectively with contractors on site.
• The position requires understanding of working conditions and environment in a COMAH site, flexibility in working hours including overtime at weekends, contact with various greases and oils, use of overhead cranes, manual handling, use of hand and power tools, lifting heavy aircraft components, and good physical strength.
• Mandatory training will be required.
