Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Temporary Plant Fitter to work across Northampton and Peterborough on a temporary basis with immediate start. Time-served fitter with strong experience on mobile plant and heavy equipment is required.

Role involves diagnosing faults on mobile plant, performing preventative maintenance, and servicing, with duties covering excavators, dumpers, rollers and telehandlers. Health and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served Plant Fitter with demonstrable experience.
• Experience with mobile plant equipment is essential.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on mobile plant.
• Preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Repair and maintain Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers and Telehandlers.
• Diagnose faults across engine, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Replace major components and undercarriage.
• Test machinery following repairs.
• Basic welding.
• Provide technical support and advice to plant users.

Role: Plant Fitter

We are currently looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join a team on a temporary basis, with an immediate start available.

The ideal candidate will be a time-served Plant Fitter with strong experience working on mobile plant and heavy equipment.

Duties include:

• Diagnosing and repairing faults on mobile plant
• Preventative maintenance and servicing
• Repairs and maintenance on Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers and Telehandlers
• Diagnosing faults across engine, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Replacing major components and undercarriage
• Testing machinery following repairs
• Basic welding
• Providing technical support and advice to plant users
• Working safely and in line with health & safety requirements

Requirements:

• Time-served Plant Fitter - Mandatory
• Experience working with mobile plant
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
• Ability to interpret manufacturer manuals, technical drawings and diagrams
• CSCS Card - Desirable
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements
