Job summary

Alecto Recruitment in Bedfordshire is seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to service, maintain and repair a varied fleet of plant, machinery and small tools across workshop and site locations. You’ll work 7am-4pm, enjoy a company van and 28 days’ holiday, with overtime rarely required.

This role combines workshop and mobile duties on construction sites for timely fault resolution. NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent is preferred, along with strong fault-finding skills and a valid UK

Responsibilities

Experienced Plant Fitter looking for a better opportunity?

£22-£23 per hour. Company van provided. 7am-4pm. 28 days holiday. Overtime is rarely required.

We’re looking for a skilled Plant Fitter to join our team in Bedford, working between the workshop and our construction sites.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be stuck doing the same repairs every day. You’ll work across a varied fleet of plant, machinery and small tools, carrying out everything from routine maintenance to major mechanical repairs.

When our equipment is working on site, you’ll also head out to our construction sites to diagnose faults and get machinery back up and running as quickly as possible.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing plant and machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults
• Carrying out major repairs on plant
• Repairing and maintaining small tools and equipment
• Attending construction sites to carry out breakdown repairs
• Carrying out preventative maintenance
• Preparing and maintaining machinery to keep downtime to a minimum
• Working both independently and as part of the wider engineering team

• The ability to work independently on site
• A full UK driving licence

The Package

• £22.00-£23.00 per hour - depending on experience
• 7am-4pm - Monday to Friday
• Company van provided
• 28 days annual leave - 5 days retained for Christmas
Rarely required to work overtime
• Workshop + mobile-based position
