Our client is a well-established, national, family-run organization with over 50 years of successful trading. They have built a strong brand and a loyal customer base within their industry. They are now seeking to hire 2 Plant Fitters to join their Engineering Team.

Your responsibilities as a Plant Fitter:

• Fault diagnosis and repair of manual handling equipment, ensuring all plant equipment is maintained, repaired, and inspected.
• Follow servicing schedules according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect and service all vehicles, plant, and equipment.
• Perform plant safety inspections in line with group fleet policy.
• Prepare and present vehicles for annual LOLER testing.
• Conduct daily duties safely, adhering to QHSE obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and safe working practices.
• Report unsafe acts, hazards, or defective equipment to your safety advisor to maintain a safe working environment.

Required skills and qualifications:

• City & Guilds Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with heavy plant machinery such as loading shovels, forklift trucks, 360 excavators, cherry pickers.
• Proven experience with diesel engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and generators.
• Skills in pneumatic, welding, hydraulics, and electrical motors.
• Personal engineering toolkit (spanners, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.).
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexible approach and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proven track record in welding and fabrication.
• Good communication skills.
