Job summary

embecta seeks a Plant Director based in Oxfordshire to lead two UK manufacturing sites, with full P&L accountability and oversight of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, industrial management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• MBA is preferred for senior leadership.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in medical device/pharma manufacturing.
• Proven track record leading large manufacturing operations (100+ employees).
• Experience directing Production, Engineering, HR, Finance and Supply Chain.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and ability to drive results in constrained environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across two UK manufacturing sites (Chipping Norton and Witney).
• Own plant-level P&L, budgets and manufacturing performance.
• Lead cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and HR.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost and people metrics.
• Build a strong safety and quality culture with regulatory compliance (GMP/ISO).
• Lead organizational change and succession planning to enable growth.

You will shape the next chapter for both sites by strengthening operational performance, building a high-performing culture and preparing the organization for future growth.**What You’ll Do*** Provide strategic and operational leadership across both UK manufacturing sites.* Own plant-level P&L, budgets and overall manufacturing performance.* Lead Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Human Resources.* Drive performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.* Build a strong safety and quality culture while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including GMP and ISO standards.* Lead organizational change, challenge existing ways of working and create greater accountability across the sites.* Strengthen production planning, inventory management, materials flow and on-time customer delivery.* Drive continuous improvement, productivity and operational efficiency.* Develop leadership capability, strengthen succession pipelines and improve employee engagement.* Partner with senior leaders to translate operational strategy into measurable results and support future growth.**Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, industrial management or a related field, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.* At least 10 years of experience in a similar leadership role within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.* Proven success leading a manufacturing operation of more than 100 employees.* Experience leading Production, Engineering, Human Resources, Finance and Supply Chain functions.* Earlier-career experience directly managing shop-floor employees.* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a resource-constrained environment.* An agile, results-oriented leadership style and a commitment to developing high-performing teams.**The Leader We’re Looking For**You are an influential and results-driven leader who can establish a clear vision, challenge the status quo and inspire teams through change.
