Job summary

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust in Medway is seeking a Planning Team Leader (Band 5) to coordinate workforce planning and rota management in Medway. The role focuses on accurate data handling, staff scheduling and collaboration with operational managers to ensure efficient deployment.

You will lead Resource Planners, develop planning information, support onboarding and performance reporting, and contribute to service delivery.

Qualifications

• Educated to diploma level or equivalent.
• Experience analysing and interpreting complex information and producing assessments/reports for senior management.
• Experience in administrative/corporate services environment.
• Experience with project methodologies (PRINCE2 or similar).
• Ability to lead, collaborate and communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day coordination and guidance to Resource Planners.
• Oversee recording of staff working hours and patterns.
• Support management and uploading of rotas using the Trust's workforce system (GRS).
• Manage abstractions to optimise unit hours for patients.
• Collaborate with operational managers to resolve scheduling queries.
• Collate and analyse planning information and produce senior reports.
• Identify variances and escalations requiring senior input.
• Support induction, training and development within the Planning Team.
• Act as a senior point of contact and model positive leadership behaviours.
• Work with Operations, HR, Payroll, IT and Predictive Analytics.
