Job summary

Edwards & Pearce are recruiting an experienced production and materials planner for a growing food manufacturing business. You will manage and develop planning and stock processes to support the next growth phase.

You will allocate materials, plan factory output, monitor KPI performance, and collaborate with sales and production. The role also involves placing supplier orders, improving planning processes, and contributing to new product development.

Edwards and Pearce are working with a growing food manufacturing business to recruit an experienced production and materials planner to manage and develop their planning and stock processes and launch into their next growth phase.

You will be responsible for managing the production and materials planning for the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with the business into a wider operational role, initially developing planning, and later taking on wider purchasing cost and supplier performance responsibility.

Role:

• Developing effective and efficient plans and optimising the use of equipment and resources.
• Allocation of materials, ensuring that stock levels are optimised in line with demand.
• Responsibility for planning factory output, monitoring and reporting on performance against output and cost KPI's.
• Managing internal relationships, liaising with the sales and production functions, and leading planning meetings.
• Placing purchase orders on suppliers and managing ingredient stock.
• Development of improved approaches and processes around planning and the supply chain.
• Input into new product development and range introduction projects.

Requirements:

• Experience in demand or production planning, within a food manufacturing business.
• Hands on, and adaptable approach to role.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Motivated, with a passion for food.
