Job summary

Harlow Council is recruiting a Planning Officer to join its Development Management team to support regeneration and growth under Building Harlow's Future. You will manage a varied caseload from householder to commercial proposals, conduct site visits, engage stakeholders and prepare committee reports.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in town planning or related field.
• Eligibility for RTPI membership.
• Basic understanding of development management procedures.
• Ability to organise workload, demonstrate analytical skills and prepare clear written reports.
• Sound understanding of planning legislation and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage varied caseload of planning applications from householder to commercial proposals.
• Conduct site visits and stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare committee reports and liaise with councillors, residents, developers.
• Assist planning enforcement and appeals where required.
