Job Summary

I am currently working with a London Borough that is looking for an experienced Planning Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of householder, minor, and complex medium planning applications.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist with processing strategic applications, negotiating the discharge of complex conditions, and supporting major regeneration projects within the borough.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Manage and process a varied caseload of applications, including residential-led mixed-use developments, change of use, new build flats, single dwellings, commercial/retail schemes, listed building consents, infill housing, certificates of lawful development, and community infrastructure.
2. Conduct paid pre-application meetings and site visits.
3. Negotiate S106 agreements, discharge of conditions, and finalize reserved matters.
4. Perform duty planning and undertake remote site visits.
5. Attend consultation events.

Successful candidates will have practical experience in Development Management as a Planning Officer or Senior, with a proven track record of processing various planning applications in urban areas.
