An established industry player in local authority planning is seeking a skilled Town Planner to join their Development Management team. This exciting contract role offers the opportunity to lead on a diverse caseload of planning applications while working in a hybrid model. You will be a key contact for developers and will manage your own projects independently. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Town Planning and experience in a Local Authority Planning Team. This role provides a chance to make a significant impact in a busy environment, with the potential for contract extension beyond September 2025.
Our client is a busy Local Authority in South London which a Town Planner to join their Development Management team for a contract role.
You will lead on caseload of householder, minor and prior approval applications. You will be expected to manage your own caseload independently and be a main point of contract for working with developers.
The successful candidate in this role will be an established DM Planner who has worked in a Local Authority Planning Team previously. Ideally you will be RTPI accredited but it is not essential. An appropriate Town Planning degree level qualification is required.
The role is based in South London and the rate offered is up to £30/hr Umbrella depending on your experience. This role is inside IR35.
Our client offers hybrid working with two days a week in the office and most officers working from home the remaining three days a week.
The initial contract will run until the end of September 2025, but it could be extended beyond this. Previous candidates have stayed in the role in excess of a year.
