Job summary

S&B Utilities is seeking a Planning Manager to lead the integrated project schedule for the Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station’s Foul Treatment Plant and Potable Water Plant delivery. You will oversee scheduling across design, procurement, construction, testing and handover, ensuring robust, fully integrated plans aligned with the Sizewell C programme.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in planning on major projects, expert Primavera P6 skills, and a degree in engineering or related fields.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years planning experience on major construction, infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Advanced Primavera P6 knowledge and proven experience developing complex integrated programmes.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Experience in schedule risk analysis, forecasting, earned value and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated project schedules across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover phases.
• Maintain Level 1, 2 and 3 programmes and ensure alignment with governance requirements.
• Monitor progress, milestones and programme performance against baselines.
• Coordinate planning inputs from engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Produce programme reports, forecasts and performance analysis for stakeholders.
• Support decision-making through schedule forecasting and project controls.
• Ensure schedules are integrated with the wider Sizewell C programme.

Job description

The Planning Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and controlling the integrated project schedule for the delivery of the Foul Treatment Plant (FTP) and Potable Water Plant (PWP) at Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.

The role provides planning leadership throughout the project lifecycle, covering design development, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover phases. The Planning Manager will ensure that project schedules are robust, realistic, fully integrated and aligned with the wider Sizewell C programme.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to: -

Developing and managing integrated project schedules across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover phases.

Maintaining Level 1, 2 and 3 programmes and ensuring alignment with project governance requirements.

Monitoring progress, critical milestones and programme performance against agreed baselines.

Coordinating planning inputs from engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.

Identifying schedule risks, opportunities and critical path constraints.

Producing programme reports, forecasts and performance analysis for project stakeholders.

Supporting decision-making through schedule forecasting, trend analysis and project controls.

Ensuring project schedules are integrated with the wider Sizewell C programme.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:

Experience: Minimum 10 years' planning experience on major construction, infrastructure or industrial projects.

Technical Expertise: Advanced Primavera P6 knowledge and proven experience developing complex integrated programmes.

Qualifications: Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline.

Project Controls: Experience in schedule risk analysis, forecasting, earned value and performance reporting.

Leadership: Ability to lead planning activities, facilitate workshops and influence project teams and stakeholders.

Professional Membership: APM, CIOB, ICE, PMI or equivalent professional membership, or working towards.

Regulated Industries: Experience working within highly regulated environments.

Desirable: Experience within nuclear, water treatment, process plant or major infrastructure programmes.
