Job summary

S&B Utilities is seeking a Project Manager to lead the design, procurement, construction, testing and handover of water treatment facilities at Sizewell C. You will coordinate experts across engineering, construction, commissioning and governance teams to ensure delivery meets stringent safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in utilities or major infrastructure, Chartered status or working towards chartership, and strong leadership and communication

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major water treatment infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.

• Ensure compliance with nuclear, environmental, quality and health & safety requirements.
• Oversee design development, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Produce project reports, forecasts and governance updates for senior stakeholders.
• Support the achievement of critical programme milestones across the wider Sizewell C project.

Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover of the Foul Treatment Plant (FTP) and Potable Water Plant (PWP) at Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.

Working within a highly regulated environment, the Project Manager will coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering consultants, construction contractors, commissioning specialists, supply chain partners, regulators, environmental stakeholders and client representatives. The role is critical in ensuring the facility is delivered to support site operations while meeting the stringent safety, quality and environmental expectations associated with a UK nuclear licensed site.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to: -

Leading the delivery of major water treatment infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.

Managing project budgets, schedules, risks and commercial performance.

Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants and stakeholders.

Ensuring compliance with nuclear, environmental, quality and health & safety requirements.

Overseeing design development, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.

Producing project reports, forecasts and governance updates for senior stakeholders.

Supporting the achievement of critical programme milestones across the wider Sizewell C project.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:

Experience: Minimum 5 years' project management experience within utilities, water, infrastructure, energy or major construction projects.

Project Delivery: Proven track record of delivering design-and-build projects valued at £10m+ through to commissioning and handover.

Professional Membership: Chartered status, or working towards chartership, with a recognised professional institution.

Health & Safety: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.

Leadership: Strong stakeholder management, communication and team leadership skills.

Desirable: Nuclear industry experience, wastewater treatment experience, or experience working on major regulated infrastructure programmes.
