Planning Manager

As one of the leading Minerals and Waste Planning Authorities in the East Midlands, we play a key role in shaping sustainable development across the region. We’re looking for a highly motivated Planning Manager (Internally known as Applications Manager) to join our Planning Services team and lead the Council’s planning applications and enforcement functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact, ensuring our planning services support growth while protecting Lincolnshire’s natural, built, and historic environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Planning, you’ll manage the Development Management function, including minerals, waste, and County Council developments (e.g., schools, highways, and fire stations). You’ll lead on complex and controversial planning applications, enforcement issues, and major projects, ensuring legal compliance and professional excellence.

Your expertise will be crucial in:

  • Leading a team and driving service improvements
  • Presenting planning applications to the Planning Committee
  • Representing the Council at inquiries, hearings, and public meetings
  • Managing performance, budgets, and risk in the applications process
  • Supporting the development of minerals and waste policy and key infrastructure projects
