Sheffield is not only England's fourth largest city but also the greenest city in the UK. Our newly adopted Growth Plan emphasizes the City Council's vision of a city that is easier to navigate, better connected, safer for vulnerable travelers, and more sustainable. This exciting role will be central to accelerating our progress towards realizing that vision.
We are building a safe, reliable, and low-carbon transport network designed for the future, supporting our residents' ambitions and the potential of our businesses. You will lead our talented and innovative Transport Planning team in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and plans that foster the city's sustainable economic growth, align with our climate change goals, and enhance the quality of life for all Sheffield residents. You will stay informed about emerging practices at regional and national levels, influencing our actions and collaborations with partners. Occasionally, you will deputize for the Assistant Director and contribute to regional discussions on strategic transport issues.
