Job summary

Wates is offering a Planning Management Trainee programme based in Birmingham. The role supports developing and maintaining construction programmes and assisting with project progress and reporting, while gaining exposure to pre‑construction and site activities.

You will work with planning professionals, attend site visits, and build skills in stakeholder management, analytics and project controls throughout the programme. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) by Sept 2027.
• Two A-Levels at Grade D or above by Sept 2027.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain construction programmes and schedules using planning software.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones and identify risks or delays.
• Learn planning principles, methodologies and best practice in construction.
• Analyse project performance data and contribute to reports and controls.
• Collaborate with project, design, commercial and delivery teams to reflect requirements.
