Main Duties

Balance Power is excited to offer a position within our expanding Planning Team as a Planning Lead. As part of the Planning & Design Team, you will manage planning applications, engage with stakeholders, and support energy development projects. This role is ideal for a professional with at least three years of experience in town planning within a local authority, consultancy, or developer environment.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  1. Leading and managing planning applications, primarily for solar and battery developments.
  2. Providing planning advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with UK planning legislation and local policies.
  3. Liaising with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental, legal, and engineering professionals, to support project development.
  4. Monitoring and responding to changes in planning policy, legislation, and best practices.
  5. Representing the organization at planning committees, public inquiries, and stakeholder meetings.
  6. Assisting in business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals.

Skills / Qualifications

Degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or related field.
