Job summary

Foot Anstey LLP in the United Kingdom seeks an Associate/Senior Associate to join its nationally recognised Planning & Environmental team, advising on major infrastructure projects and development schemes.

You will work on Development Consent Orders, Town and Country Planning Act matters, and related infrastructure regimes, collaborating across the firm to deliver practical, commercially focused advice for developers, infrastructure providers, landowners and investors.

Qualifications

• Approx. 3–6 years’ PQE in planning law.
• Experience advising on DCOs/ICOs or other major infrastructure regimes.
• Strong experience in Town and Country Planning Act matters.
• Experience in energy/transport/utilities or wider infrastructure sectors beneficial.
• Commercial, pragmatic approach with excellent client service.
• Strong drafting, analytical and technical legal skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of planning matters, delivering practical, commercially focused advice.
• Handle Development Consent Orders for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and related regimes.
• Advise on Town and Country Planning Act matters including applications and appeals.
• Negotiate planning and infrastructure agreements (e.g., s106, highways).
• Provide planning support on corporate, real estate and energy transactions.
• Collaborate with the wider Property Group to deliver high-quality service.
• Develop client relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
• Support and mentor junior lawyers and trainees, contributing to team culture.
