Job summary

Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a Planning Enforcement Officer to join the Development Management team in Colwyn Bay. The role covers investigating breaches, serving enforcement notices, and maintaining records to drive compliant planning outcomes.

You will work with planning officers, legal services, developers and the public to achieve positive resolutions. The successful candidate will have a degree in enforcement/planning (or equivalent experience) and a valid driving licence; RTPI

Qualifications

• You should hold a degree in enforcement/planning or equivalent experience showing competence across required skills.
• Full driving licence is essential; RTPI membership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Investigate breaches in planning control and assess expediency.
• Maintain enforcement records and prepare/serve notices.
• Attend site visits and engage in negotiations with stakeholders.
• Prepare evidence for hearings and act as expert witness when required.
• Collaborate with planning officers, legal services, developers and the public.
