Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a Planning Enforcement Lead to manage a team of Enforcement Officers. You will lead investigations into breaches of planning control and work with senior colleagues to improve service delivery and future strategy. The role includes site visits, committee attendance, and a flexible hybrid working model.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree, strong leadership and communication skills, and a driving licence; RTPI membership is desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driving license. Membership of the RTPI is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Line manage a team of 3 Planning Enforcement Officers.
• Investigate and resolve breaches of planning control across the County Borough.
• Collaborate with other Lead Officers and Head of Service to improve service and shape its future direction.
• Undertake site visits and attend Committee meetings as required; participate in in-person and online meetings.
• Support flexible/hybrid working arrangements to maintain a positive home/work balance.
