Title: Planning Enforcement Officer

Rate: £40 (umbrella)

Type: 4 months - temporary

Location: Hybrid - Wyre Forest house, Fine Point Way, Kidderminster, DY11 7WF

Opus People Solutions are working with Bromsgrove District Council to recruit a temporary Planning Enforcement Officer to investigate alleged breaches of planning control and provide site reports after careful investigation and evidence gathering.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake inspections of business and domestic premises to ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
  2. Respond to and investigate complaints related to industrial, commercial, and domestic premises and businesses, identifying unfair trading practices and breaches of civil or criminal law, and take remedial action.
  3. Carry out enforcement activities in relation to all relevant provisions of regulatory legislation.
  4. Provide advice and education for consumers and businesses within Worcestershire on relevant regulatory legislation and associated civil law.
  5. Take appropriate action in respect of non-compliance, including (when authorized) serving formal notices and other interventions.
  6. Facilitate resolution of disputes between traders and consumers, prioritizing vulnerable citizens, and take action under the Enterprise Act against rogue traders.
  7. Assist in implementing the service's duties, responsibilities, and policies related to Environmental Health and Consumer Protection.
