Job description

Job Description Summary

Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition.

The North Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) team delivers a wide range of high voltage AC and DC transmission projects, and is looking for a Quality and Compliance Engineer to join the engineering delivery team.

These large and complex projects are designed and delivered using a wide range of processes and procedures, and it is critical that the processes used are current, fit for purpose and applied rigorously and consistently throughout the full life of the project.

In this role, you will support this objective by undertaking the following key activities across the portfolio of tenders and projects being undertaken:

  1. Perform regular audits to ensure the required processes and procedures are effectively applied, and manage any actions needed to correct non-conformances.
  2. Work with the function leaders to update existing processes, and develop new procedures as the need arises. Educate the Engineering teams on the application of processes and the business expectations.
  3. Lead and manage the capturing and capitalisation of the learning experienced from the projects being executed, including both the communication of the issue, and process changes to avoid reoccurrence.
Job Description

As part of this role, you will undertake the following tasks:

Process Compliance
  • Undertake regular audits on the application of the processes used by the Engineering Team at both the tender and project delivery phases.
  • Identify and document any non-conformance, and manage the undertaking of both the short and long term corrective actions.
Process Maintenance and Development
  • Identify and undertake the updating of existing procedures in order to create improvement, efficiencies and general maintenance.
  • Identify process gaps and create new procedures to resolve the issues.
  • Ensure that the processes used by the Engineering team are coordinated within the Engineering function and with other parts of the business.
  • Represent the North and South Europe Region at a global level for the creation and deployment of high-level centralised Engineering procedures.
  • Support the introduction of continuous improvement actions from a process development and deployment perspective.
  • Continuously educate the Engineering teams on process application and business expectations.
Experience Capture and Capitalisation
  • Lead and manage capturing and capitalising on learnings from current and past projects.
  • Facilitate regular lessons learned meetings during project execution to systematically capture insights.
  • Conduct communication sessions to raise awareness of best practices, quality concerns, and learning areas.
  • Implement process changes based on project experiences, both positive and negative.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A first degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in roles involving project delivery activities, familiar with processes and procedures for large capital projects.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and process auditing, with skills in process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Experience in creating business processes and procedures, and educating users.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015.
Desired Characteristics

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A systematic, disciplined approach and clear communication skills.
  • Confidence in discussing issues with stakeholders and proposing solutions.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, self-management, flexibility, resilience, and a self-learning attitude.
