Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an England and Wales qualified planning lawyer to advise landowners, developers and local authorities on planning law, handle complex applications, and draft planning and infrastructure agreements. You will conduct public inquiries and oversee associated litigation while developing the practice through networking and client relationships within a collegial team.

Qualifications

• PQE: NQ up to 2PQE.
• Strong academic background.
• England and Wales qualified.
• Effective delegation and teamwork.
• Experience developing client relationships and thought leadership.
• Broad planning experience, real estate desirable.
• Excellent drafting in plain English.
• Commercial, entrepreneurial mindset.
• High personal integrity and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Advise landowners, developers and authorities on planning law.
• Handle complex planning applications and environmental assessments.
• Draft and negotiate planning agreements including Section 106 and CIL.
• Advise on garden cities, affordable housing and viability.
• Conduct public inquiry work and coordinate teams.
• Manage judicial reviews and High Court litigation.
• Draft local plans, neighbourhood plans and development orders.
• Develop the practice through networking and client relationships.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to business development.
