Planner - Part time - Civil Engineering - 2-3 days per week

A leading civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planner to join their team in Ipswich. We are looking for an individual with a passion for efficient project delivery and a proven track record of success in the highway and infrastructure sectors. Candidates must live within 1 hour of Ipswich.

What You'll Do:
  1. Develop Comprehensive Project Plans: Create detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk assessments, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution.
  2. Optimize Scheduling and Sequencing: Develop and maintain project schedules, considering resource availability, dependencies, and potential delays, to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
  3. Resource Management: Coordinate and manage the allocation of resources, including labor, plant, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project delivery.
  4. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor their effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Progress Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and prepare regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, potential issues, and recommendations.
  6. Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve planning processes, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and reduce costs.
What We Need:
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Planner in the civil sector, with a strong understanding of project planning methodologies and best practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in planning software such as ASTA, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Experience with TP193 or SR193, TILOS planning software, and Power BI would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong Foundation: Experience in civil works and/or construction projects.
  • Essential Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
