Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Planner to join the Energy Team on the ETP Framework, based in Aberthaw, Wales. The role focuses on developing resourced programmes, managing documentation, and coordinating planning activities across design, estimation, and supply chain teams.

The ideal candidate will have Civil Engineering or construction experience, proficiency with P6/TILOS/QSRA, and strong MS Office skills to support tendering and contract delivery. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Civil Engineering / Construction, water sector preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient in planning software: P6, TILOS, QSRA.
  • Experience with diverse planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
  • Strong computer literacy with MS Office, including MS Project and P6.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a resourced programme and review conformance with expectations.
  • Contribute to the risk register and perform programme risk analysis.
  • Prepare visual materials to support planned methods.
  • Maintain orderly project documentation.
  • Act as a communication link for planning information among parties.
  • Define methods and outputs with the estimator and team, considering supply chain needs.
  • Liaise with design engineer to establish temporary works briefs.
  • Provide the estimator with justified temporary works and indirect cost schedules.
  • Advise project team on required feedback reports with support from Estimator.

A day in the life of a Murphy Planner

  • Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
  • Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
  • Prepare visual material in aid of planned methods.
  • Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide a link between all parties regarding the planning community information
  • Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chainin appropriate circumstances.
  • Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  • Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
  • In consultation with Estimator advise project team of required feedback reports and support.

  • Experience within Civil Engineering / Construction preferably within Water but not essential
  • Use of planning software (P6, TILOS, QSRA).
  • Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project and P6
