Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Planner to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. The role focuses on preparing resourced programmes, risk analysis, and clear communication across planning stakeholders.

You will support tendering and contract delivery with strong proficiency in planning tools and Microsoft Project, contributing to safe and efficient project execution.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Civil Engineering/Construction, preferably within Water sector.
  • Experience using planning software (P6, TILOS, QSRA).
  • Experience with planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office including MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a resourced programme, reviewing conformance with expectations and requirements.
  • Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
  • Prepare visual material in aid of planned methods.
  • Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide the link between all parties regarding planning community information.
  • Define methods and establish outputs with the estimator and team, including supply chain as appropriate.
  • Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  • Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect cost items.
  • Advise project team of required feedback reports and support (with Estimator).

A day in the life of a Murphy Planner
  • Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
  • Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
  • Prepare visual material in aid of planned methods.
  • Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide a link between all parties regarding the planning community information
  • Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chainin appropriate circumstances.
  • Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  • Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
  • In consultation with Estimator advise project team of required feedback reports and support.
