Planned Maintenance Engineer
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Shifts: Sun-Wed 06:00-16:00
Location: Cotes Park Industrial Estate, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 4PA
Position Summary
As a Planned Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the site maintenance strategy, developing and maintaining production processors, and participating in improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive operational performance of Safety, Quality, Speed, Cost, and People KPIs.
- Partner with the Production Shift Lead to coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities.
- Play an active role in delivering departmental performance targets such as OEE, RFT, waste, and yield.
- Complete basic equipment condition monitoring, preventative maintenance duties, and engineering repairs.
- Conduct Function Tests on site safety equipment (Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, High Level Alarm, etc.).
- Perform daily checks on site utilities and plant equipment, supporting site compliance inspections.
- Make effective repairs to machinery using established methodologies.
- Utilize, develop, and improve the AM and PM systems.
- Ensure machinery runs effectively and efficiently.
- Comply with site safety systems.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or experience, with an understanding of Electrical Engineering (Essential).
- Knowledge of Production Machinery (Essential), ideally within Packaging, Food, FMCG, etc.
- Creative problem-solving skills and commitment to following through on solutions with relevant stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of autonomous, preventative, and predictive maintenance techniques, and understanding of working within a lower-tier COMAH site.
- Good understanding of general manufacturing Utilities Plant Equipment (Steam Boilers, Compressed Air Plant, Water Treatment Plant, etc.) (Desirable).
