Cummins Inc. in Darlington, UK is seeking an enthusiastic IT Systems placement student to join our Systems/Information Technology team for the Engine Business Segment.

During your placement you will learn how a major global organization operates and gain tools to become an expert in the industry. This role starts Summer 2027 and is 100% onsite Monday to Friday, business hours, with relocation/travel required to the location.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Some coding experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination & leadership skills.
• A good understanding of computer systems, software and emerging technologies.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects from requirement gathering and definition through to implementation.
• Support Industry 4.0 deployment and hardware/software support.
• Improve IT and business processes through cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop BI solutions using PowerApps and Power BI.
• Support and improve processes through data collection, analysis, testing and problem solving.
• Involvement in production support as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Systems placement student to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Engine Business Segment in Darlington, UK . During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer 2027 This position will be 100% onsite Monday to Friday, business hours, so we will only consider candidates who will be able to travel or relocate to the location.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Lead small projects and initiatives from requirement gathering and definition through to implementation. For this you will use set business analysis and methodologies.

• Support Industry 4.0 deployment and work on support of hardware and systems.

• Improving IT and related business processes through your involvement in cross functional support collaborating with different teams and departments throughout the business.

• Developing business intelligence solutions using Microsoft PowerApps and PowerBi along with other industry software packages.

• Support and improve process through process flow mapping, data collection and analysis, testing and problem solving.

• Involvement in production support as required.

• To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Studying towards a degree within Computer Science or Information Technology –
