Job summary

Doncaster College is seeking an organised and proactive Work Placement Co-ordinator to plan, prepare and deliver work placements across curriculum areas. You will work with students, employers and teams to provide valuable workplace experience that supports studies and future careers.

The role focuses on developing employer relationships, supporting students throughout placement, and ensuring placements meet college policies, funding rules and safeguarding expectations.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification.
• Good IT skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
• Experience of working with young people aged 14 to 19.
• Experience of working within the education sector.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Organise and develop new and existing work placement opportunities for students.
• Support curriculum areas to ensure learners receive an outstanding placement experience.
• Plan, prepare and assess work placement activity in line with College policies and external requirements.
• Conduct placement visits to monitor student progress and address any issues or concerns.
• Carry out Health and Safety assessments of placement settings.
• Support students through placement preparation, briefing sessions and DBS application processes where required.
• Distribute relevant work placement documentation to employers and providers.
• Develop and maintain employer, commercial and industrial partnerships.
• Respond to work placement enquiries from students, staff and external organisations.
• Monitor and report on placement progress in collaboration with the Work Placement Team Leader.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders across the College.
