Job summary

National Wealth Fund is seeking a Senior Manager – Place and Environment to shape how we invest in places and infrastructure to support growth and clean energy missions in the UK.

You will lead government and local stakeholder engagement, drive strategy across departments, and coordinate matrix teams to embed place-based investing across the Fund's operations. Hybrid Leeds-based, 8-month fixed term, with potential start in December 2026 or January 2027.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering government public policy and strategy.
• Ability to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively.
• Strong written and oral communication with senior partners.
• Experience leading policy/advisory work at senior government level.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Fund’s approach to investments in places and place-based infrastructure.
• Provide thought leadership on place-based investing across government and partners.
• Identify connections between public policy and private market developments.
• Build relationships with government departments and devolved administrations.
• Oversee stakeholder engagement with regional authorities and local governments.
• Lead matrix teams to embed place-based investing across operations.
• Deliver strategic investment opportunities aligned with mission.
• Lead and develop policy advisors and secondees.
