Our Client is delivering a major sewage treatment works upgrade with MEICA installations and large mechanical work packages. The post will supervise mechanical site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion according to the contract.
The role requires experience in mechanical installation, piping, welding, and compliance with project methods. A relevant qualification and CSCS/SSSTS are preferred for lifting duties and site management.

Rate: 425 per day (Neg DOE), inside IR35
Duration: 6-12 months
Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting eight long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.
The Role: A major sewage treatment works is undergoing a 130m upgrade to increase capacity. As part of this there are several new process units being installed, namely - PSTs, ASP, FSTs, inlet pumping station, above ground pipe gantries and numerous other pumping stations. There are a number of large mechanical work packages involving pipework systems/gantries, scraper bridges, pump stations, aeration systems, steelwork access stairways & flooring and pressure testing pipework.
You will report directly to the Senior Site Manager and your role will supervise and control all mechanical site activities in the most efficient manner, to the specification and within the contract time without risk to the health and safety of all concerned and providing a quality end product, ensuring a quality installation with all ITPs completed as the work progresses.
Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors.
Ensure that all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded and reviewed when received and that they are the latest version.
Check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out.
Review and comment on Method Statements and Work Instructions as required by the Project Execution Plan.
Supervise work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with Method Statements and Work Instructions.
Record the progress of the works on record drawings or other suitable means when required.
Record all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agree action with the person in charge of the works.
Several years' experience of working in the mechanical installation sector
Understands pipework fabrication, welding and erection, aeration systems, flooring systems.
Water sector experience preferred
HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or good apprenticeship in mechanical fitting works
SSSTS, CSCS
AP for lifting (desirable)
