Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking a JDO Piping Design Engineer to support the Hinkley Point C project. You will provide piping design expertise, perform mechanical calculations, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

The role is hybrid, requiring 3-4 days on site per week, with a starting salary of £57,000 per annum and opportunities for bonus and strong pension benefits. You will contribute to a major infrastructure program and the transition toward a low-carbon

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 3 years' postgraduate experience in mechanical calculations, nuclear industry or similar engineering environment
• Knowledge of EUROCODE, ASME and RCC-M codes
• Experience using 2D/3D design and calculation software
• Experience performing piping and support calculations
• Experience working in multicultural or international project teams
• Fluent English (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assessments and engineering support for piping design issues raised during site installation activities
• Produce and resolve design queries including RFIs, FCRs and NCRs related to piping, supports and anchorages
• Carry out mechanical calculations including piping flexibility, support calculations and FEM analyses
• Collaborate with CAD designers and multidisciplinary teams to develop and update design documentation
• Support project delivery by ensuring engineering solutions meet quality, safety and programme requirements
