Job summary

Responsibilities include trenching, pipe installation, joining and testing, plus backfilling and site cleanup. A strong safety record and practical experience are essential for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipe Layer in the construction industry.
• Ability to read blueprints, construction plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with different pipe types, fittings and joining methods.
• Experience with excavation, trenching and backfilling.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.
• Physical stamina for outdoor manual work.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans and specs to determine pipe layout, depth and alignment.
• Excavate trenches using hand tools or machinery maintaining safety guidelines.
• Install and position pipes, align according to project specs.
• Connect and seal pipes with fittings and joints.
• Inspect pipe systems for leaks and test with gauges.
• Backfill trenches and compact soil after installation.
• Operate excavators, loaders or pipe-laying machines as required.
• Collaborate with team to ensure efficient workflow.
• Adhere to project schedules and report delays.
