Job summary

Norse Contracts are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join a year-long project in Potters Bar, working Saturdays. Local applicants are welcome, as well as those travelling from further afield. This role focuses on underground drainage and service pipework on civils/groundworks sites.

You will read and implement engineering drawings, prepare trenches, lay pipe bedding, and perform testing and CCTV prep as required. A CSCS card is essential.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is essential.
• Proven pipe layer experience on civils/groundworks.
• Ability to read engineering drawings accurately.
• Own PPE and willingness to travel to Potters Bar.
• Available for Saturday work on a year-long project.

Responsibilities

• Installing below-ground drainage and service pipework (foul, surface water, water mains, ducting).
• Reading and following engineering drawings to install pipework to correct lines, levels and falls.
• Excavating and preparing trenches to required depth and spec.
• Laying bedding material and backfilling per specification.
• Jointing and connecting pipework using suitable methods.
• Constructing manholes, chambers and gullies.
• Carrying out pressure/leak testing and CCTV prep when required.
• Ensuring excavations are safely supported and compliant with health and safety rules.
• Working with setting out engineer to confirm levels/positions.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works.

Job Description

Norse Contracts are looking for experienced Pipe Layers to join us on a year-long project, working Saturdays, at our site in Potters Bar. We welcome applications from local operatives and those travelling from further afield.

Duties will include:

• Installing below-ground drainage and service pipework (foul, surface water, water mains, ducting)
• Working from engineering drawings to install pipework to correct lines, levels and falls
• Excavating and preparing trenches to the required depth and specification
• Laying pipe bedding material and backfilling in line with specification
• Jointing and connecting pipework using appropriate methods for pipe material
• Constructing manholes, chambers and gullies
• Carrying out pressure/leak testing and CCTV survey preparation where required
• Ensuring excavations are safely supported and comply with health and safety regulations
• Working closely with the setting out engineer to confirm levels and positions
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works

Requirements:

• CSCS card (essential)
• Proven experience as a Pipe Layer on similar civils/groundworks projects
• Confident reading engineering drawings and working to levels
• Own PPE
• Willingness to travel to Potters Bar
