A Planning Technician role at Southampton, England, sits within the Maintenance Group of a major industrial site. You will plan, scope, estimate and coordinate metals maintenance work, maintaining SAP backlog and working closely with BTC to deliver detailed plans and job packs.

Previous pipefitting experience is essential; the position offers 37.5 hours per week with overtime opportunities and a salary range of £50,100–£68,700 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Essential pipefitting experience and a technical background.
• Solid maintenance planning and field scoping experience.
• Ability to interpret drawings, equipment specs and vendor details.
• Experience with SAP or similar maintenance planning systems.

Responsabilités

• Own and manage a backlog of maintenance work within SAP.
• Scope repair, maintenance and functional failure work for units.
• Collaborate with BTC to develop detailed maintenance plans and job packs.
• Conduct field visits, take measurements, photos and collect data.
• Create and maintain maintenance plans, task lists and templates.
• Source materials, equipment and third‑party services for activities.
• Produce accurate cost estimates and support annual planning.
• Manage purchase orders and monitor cost overruns.
• Coordinate multicraft maintenance activities and optimise resources.
• Track procurement and contractor requirements.
• Support continuous improvement and performance reviews.
• Ensure all work aligns with safety and reliability standards.
