Job summary

NRL, a leading contractor, is recruiting experienced Pipefitters for the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Somerset. This permanent role offers long‑term work, competitive pay, and the chance to contribute to a landmark UK engineering project.

Fully site‑based at Hinkley Point C with shifts 07:00–17:00 (Mon–Thu) and 06:45–15:13 (Fri–Sun), plus a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation. Must have NVQ/City & Guilds/Apprenticeship with 5+ years’ experience; CCNSG Passport preferred.

Qualifications

  • Qualified via NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or time-served with 5+ years verified experience.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport holder or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience in installation, assembly, and pressure testing of pipework systems in industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong awareness of nuclear safety culture and rigorous quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply technical drawings and specifications to plan and complete pipefitting tasks.
  • Install, assemble, and test pipework systems to meet stringent project and regulatory standards.
  • Inspect installed pipework for quality, integrity, and compliance.
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, daily briefings, and risk assessments.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and non‑conformances promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, QA/QC, and other trades to resolve technical queries.
  • Maintain organised, safe work areas and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Pipefitter

We’re recruiting experienced Pipefitters for the Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project in Somerset. This is a permanent opportunity offering long‑term work, competitive pay, and the chance to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant engineering projects. Perfect for skilled professionals with proven experience installing and testing pipework systems in regulated environments.

Salary: Rates in line with the ECSA agreement, including overtime premiums.

Location and Working Pattern: Hinkley Point C, Somerset – fully site‑based.

Shift pattern:

  • Monday–Thursday: 07:00–17:00
  • Friday–Sunday: 06:45–15:13

Rotation: 10 days on / 4 days off.

Approx. 50 hours per week with overtime options.

Accommodation allowance and retainers available.

Additional daily travel, bus, and park‑and‑ride allowances.

  • Extensive experience in installation, assembly, and pressure testing of pipework systems in industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong awareness of nuclear safety culture and rigorous quality standards.
Nice‑to‑have Skills
  • Connected Competence accreditation (Pipefitting discipline).
  • Experience on major infrastructure or nuclear projects.
