Job summary

BAE Systems in Glasgow is seeking a skilled Pipefitter for onboard ship installations, contributing to major projects like the Type 26 programme. You will fabricate and install pipework in harsh environments, interpret drawings, and ensure safety and quality across operations.

Qualifications

• A Modern Apprenticeship or Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Experience in pipe manufacture and installation on major projects.
• Solid knowledge of pipefitting methods and safe working practices.
• The ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• An understanding of SHE, COSHH, and risk-assessment requirements.
• Previous experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar trade within an industrial or commercial environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating and installing pipework systems using various materials (copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel).
• Utilizing hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes.
• Installing utilities aboard ships, including sinks, showers, and toilets.

Your Role
