Job summary

Holtec International is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to perform detailed piping stress analyses for integrity and safety. The role requires 5+ years of experience, expertise in AutoPIPE or CAESAR II, and strong knowledge of ASME NB/NCD/B31.1/B31.3 codes. On-site in Almondsbury with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 5+ years of piping stress analysis experience in oil, gas, or nuclear sectors.
• Proficiency with AutoPIPE or CAESAR II for static and dynamic analyses.
• Knowledge of ASME NB, NCD, B31.1 and B31.3 codes.
• Experience with 3D design tools: SmartPlant 3D, PDMS, Navisworks.
• Understanding of static and dynamic analysis methods.
• Ability to interpret piping layouts and isometrics.
• Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform piping stress analyses (static and dynamic) using AutoPIPE or CAESAR II.
• Develop stress design basis, critical line lists, and analysis procedures.
• Evaluate thermal expansion, sustained loads, occasional loads, and seismic effects.
• Provide design recommendations for supports, routing, and expansion joints.
• Analyze and mitigate high piping loads on equipment nozzles, ensuring code compliance.
• Select appropriate spring hangers to accommodate thermal expansion and loads.
• Generate and review stress reports, calculations, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with layout, materials, and structural teams for optimized designs.
• Support 3D modeling, clash detection, and routing optimization.
• Assist construction teams by resolving field piping stress issues.
